Save this one! Here’s why:
🌟 Boosts Brain Coordination: Rolling from one side to the other activates both sides of your baby’s brain, strengthening the connection between the left and right hemispheres. This is key for complex thinking and problem-solving down the road!
🚀 Improves Balance & Builds Core Strength: Rolling helps babies develop balance and engage those tiny core muscles, laying the foundation for crawling, walking, and other physical milestones.
🤸♀️ Increases Body Awareness: Log rolling teaches your little one how their body moves in space, building coordination and spatial awareness that will benefit them in all future movements.
🥇 Prepares for Future Learning: These cross-body movements aren’t just fun—they’re the building blocks for skills like reading and writing by promoting the brain integration needed for tasks requiring coordination.
💫 How to do it:
Around 10 months, you can start teaching your baby to log roll. Here’s how: Hold your baby across your arms, gently lift them up (don’t forget to throw in a raspberry on their belly for some giggles! 😄) and roll them down your arms across your lap. Once they reach the floor, assist them in rolling until they can do it independently. It takes strong core muscles, so help them as long as they need it!
